Monday, March 22

Welp, I have to push back my planned black bean dinner. Boo's dad was going to make us lunch yesterday, and slept through it (so we had olive garden). He doesn't really eat much, and sent the thawed chicken home with us.

March 18th, 19th, 20th, & 21st

Walked to library today (1.19mi) to turn in dvds / books. Mailman brought me a cookbook I ordered from amazon, yay!

19th -


Today I made Unbeef stew (boo had some for lunch and went back for seconds), mexican gumbo, and the chickpea cutlets. I think maybe I made the cutlets too thin, and will make them thicker next time. The unbeef stew made the house smell soooo good! I didn't have any today, but put a couple servings in the freezer for later.

20th-

I went to the grocery to pick up some veggies to make homemade veggie bouillon. For what ever reason, I thought it was 16oz of shrooms instead of 1.5c, and leeks were sold in sets of two. Ended up with enough to make the recipe twice, with veggies to spare. Boo looked at the bits leftover and declared those were pizza toppings. lol. After making the pizza I put some dried black beans in the crockpot for tomorrow's meal.

March 15th

Today has so far been spent reading blogs, looking up recipes, and doing a little light shopping (cookbooks).

Eggs in a basket

Today we went out to breakfast at the cracker barrel. I haven't been there in years and years. We received a gift card (10$) for christmas, and thought it was a great day to use it up.

I opted for:
Eggs in a basket
turkey sausage
fried apples

Pookie had pancakes, syrup, butter, and coffee.

I did not search online for nutritionals before going. I wanted to just feel normal about it for a change, lol. I got up, got dressed and went to breakfast like regular folks do. I did however only eat half of everything, and am hoping that will be my saving grace. I am having problems finding pts for everything.. but
CB sourdough bread - 2.5
CB fried apples - (1/2) 2
egg - 2
turkey sausage - Guessing 2?
so for half my breakfast I believe its 8.5 =)


For lunch I had a black bean burger (5) on Arnold dbl fiber bread (3), topped with 1/3c HG's Holy Moly Guacamole (1), with a potato (2), and asparagus (1).

Dinner was tilapia (2), cabbage (1), salsa (1)on two LTF chipotle corn tortillas (3).



Today made a batch of fruit slush (my first time trying it), and ended up with 28 little 1/3c servings at 1pt each. I went for a walk today after lunch (1.7mi). I then made up a double batch of Chole Palak for boo's lunches this week.

Library book sale

Looks like it's one of the few things that will get me up & out in the rain. It was a little chilly and wet for the walk. The library is only .5 ish miles from the house, so we went ahead and walked anyway. Pookie didn't find anything =( I bought four books (to kill a mockingbird, Croatian, crockpot cookbook, and don't sweat the small stuff), returned the dvds, and checked out three Poirot dvds. Pretty icky out so that will probably be it for my exercise today.

3.03mi walk iso quinoa


Walked to Marsh today in search of quinoa, couscous, and nutritional yeast. I left with a sugar free rockstar only. It looks like I will actually have to goto indy to get those items, lol. Discouraged, I went to biglots. I was hopeful they might carry one or more of the above. I left with yogi tea, triscuits, and a bag of s&p kettle chips. The goodwill was now in eyesight so I checked it out. I bought a lamp, yeah, it was great to lug home. Aldi's is next to goodwill so I went in grabbed a 5lb bag of red potatoes, 2 avocado (yumm), carrots, and a seedless cuke. I was getting tired and over-burdened so I headed home.
I think I almost walked 5k, it's 3.something miles? Hoping to get in good enough shape to do the 5k run/walk mid June. I wonder if they will let you walk the whole thing? lol.

Today, I officially signed up for the Pink Ribbon Rush 5k run/walk ! (hopefully my first of many)

1.3 mi walk

The ground is mushy, the air is wet, and it is supposed to rain today. I decided to walk to the library, return the dvds we borrowed, and get more for tonight. I picked up more Heros season 2, and a couple of books. Artisan bread in five was.. dun dun dunnn.. still checked out, lol. I went with so fat, low fat, no fat (yes, I know it's old, but I haven't read it yet) and almost vegetarian.

I have been seriously pondering making Lentil Ricotta Meatballs and baked seitan.

I am pretty sure I will make the meatballs, but the seitan has hoity toity ingreds that I just don't have on hand (or seen at Kroger). Maybe I will walk to marsh soon and see if they have 'em?

2.16 mi

About time!

I finally got some more exercise in /cue circus music. I was feeling.. well.. just horrible about my 21pt pizza party last night, so I decided it was a good day to try to run. I have been thinking about becoming some sort of variation of a runner for awhile now. There are a lot of ww peeps who didn't exercise who now run. Not even just a little bit, they are out doing 1/2 marathons and what not. I find it all terribly inspiring, but I am still struggling with my laziness lol.

Even though I have recently quit smoking, I still have a smoker's lungs, so it was more of a walk/jog for the first .75 mile followed by walking. I think I could have done more, but I am not near anywhere you can privately jog/run. I need to work on my confidence as much as (if not more than) my fitness & weight.

At the .75 mile mark I had planned to turn around, but realized that I was only a few blocks from the goodwill! I thought this would be a great time to go and get some more measuring cups/spoons. I got lucky and found 1/3c x2 , 1/2c, and a full set of spoons, which was $2.10 with tax. Boo reckons I have plenty of measuring cups / spoons so it was nice to just get some and not hear the snarky remarks, lol. I, on the other hand, have decided that I need many sets of both. I measure to cook, and when I eat. I have found that if they are all dirty (and they were during porkfest '10), I am not likely to wash one or two before I eat. I will just guess, and I am a pretty generous guesser I think, lol.

Two Boos who eat give away link

For breakfast I had the hearty oatmeal. (4)

Sunday was lunch at hubby's dad's house. He made up quite the spread as usual, and it was pretty tasty =) He was running a little behind so we all partook of some gin & tonic (he bought diet tonic water by mistake, yay!). (6)

Lunch I had pork loin with apples & raisins (8?)

1/2c honeydew (1)

30 pts round about. This ended up being both lunch & dinner. I got to take home the other half of the honeydew *mmmmm*.


8th-
Today was pretty busy.
I washed the bedding, all six loads of it. I started some seeds, I hope? lol. Made laundry detergent, this time I went liquid, we'll see how that turns out. I whipped up 20 breakfast burritos for the freezer.

Pork fest '10

Went to home depot today and got some seeds, starter soil, etc. Am really looking forward to my first garden / fresh veggies! Walked to the library today (25min) and checked out a couple oamc books. Sadly, the artisan bread in 5 min a day was checked out, again. Always is! One of these days, I will get my grubby little hands on it ;)

I made a double recipe of the casserole and froze all but 2 servings in ziplock bags. I also made 2 batches of Mexican pork chops with veggies and froze 2 servings per ziplock. Still had some loin left, so made 2 batches of chinese bbq pork, also put 2 servings per ziplock in the freezer. I thought for sure that would finish off the pork, but alas... I took the remaining 7oz and made a pork fried rice (4 servings) for pooky's lunch this week.

Now, if only chicken would go on sale :P
